Retail Revolution Program

Take the initiative and lead the way by joining ReShare’s Retail Revolution program. As it is known the textile industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world. It requires vast amounts of water, CO2, oil, and other valuable resources, and often, people suffer from unfair and unsafe working conditions. Together, we can make a difference.

Reduce, Reuse & ReShare

Let’s close the loop. Together with (fashion) retailers, manufacturers, and designers, we are taking up the challenge to collect as many textiles as possible for reuse and recycling within the Netherlands.

A revolution does not happen by itself. We are looking for pioneers who want to create real change with us. We aim to use our experience and expertise to lead the way for motivated retailers on the journey towards a sustainable supply chain. The Dutch Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is a great starting point, one that we can work on together and tailor for optimal implementation.

*ERP: The implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for textiles holds manufacturers of retail clothing accountable, along with municipalities, for collecting, recycling, reusing, and the disposal phases of their products entering the market.

Together we create new ways to collect, reuse or recycle fashion products

Why ReShare?

  • ReShare has over 100 years of experience in collecting, sorting, and recycling textiles. We would love to discuss a suitable and efficient way of collecting textiles in your stores;
  • Thanks to the collaboration with Textiles2Textiles and the use of Fiber Farm©, we can optimally recycle textile subtypes (non-wearable clothing) into new raw materials;
  • We work with employees with a disadvantage on the labor market, including daytime activity programs with clients from the Salvation Army;
  • Our large network enables us to give wearable textiles a second life through emergency aid, our own retail stores, other partners in the Netherlands, and certified sorting companies across Europe;
  • We are part of a global organization, The Salvation Army, with associated knowledge and sales markets;
  • Since 2014, we have experience in Dutch retail and know what it’s like to build a brand;
  • Through the industry tool CHASE, we offer full transparency in our processes;
  • The Salvation Army ReShare is a non-profit organization, and the generated revenues enable us to do our work and realize our vision. The benefit: thanks to our ANBI status, are i.a. tax-deductible donations.

Benefits of Collaboration

Each retailer has its own way of working, desires, and needs. We would be happy to collaborate and find the approach that suits you best. Here are some of the options we offer:

  • (In-store) collection via:
    A.
    An in store personalized, sustainable collection box.
    B. Store communication, without a collection box;
  • Circular processing of (rejected textiles), stocklots, or (e-)returns through (local) reuse, repurposing, and/or recycling;
  • Advice on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and knowledge of the (circular) textile industry;
  • Possibility for clothing donations (including stocklots) with tax benefits due to our ANBI status;
  • Sales locations for wearable textiles within the Netherlands or, if desired, inside or outside Europe;
  • Free advice from our sustainability manager on ‘Design for recycling’;
  • Partnerships and tailored solutions for circular (product) innovation, marketing and communication.

* ReShare considers it of utmost importance that reusable textiles exported across borders end up in the right place. To ensure this, ReShare requires buyers to report (ENOR audit) on the processing of clothing. Our ambition for a circular textile industry goes beyond current possibilities, and we advocate for European legislation, such as the EVOA regulation, to increase transparency and traceability of exported textiles.

ReShare Partners

As ReShare, we collaborate with both large and small organizations and are closely involved in all developments in the fields of reuse and recycling. We are members of the Dutch industry organization VHT and partners of MVO Nederland. We also collaborate with various retailers, including WE Fashion, Prénatal, Vanilia, My Jewellery, and Ter Horst van Geel. Additionally, we work with various designers who use our materials for new collections.

The well-being of others and care for the environment are the key drivers of the Salvation Army. Vanilia shares these values and has found the perfect partner in ReShare. We are proud of this collaboration.
